Why Riverhouse?
There is no better "bang for the buck" than supporting early childcare.
Supporting a child's quality of life in the first 5 years reaps huge dividends because it is building a solid foundation for the rest of their lives - helping to build a sense of trust, self-confidence and social affability that will help the child to succeed for the rest of his or her life.
Our monthly tuition costs for each of our 60+ families range from $1,265 per month (for 4 and 5 year olds) to $1,700 per month for an infant (about $19,000 per year).
80% of our $1.1 million budget goes to paying staff who average $16-$18 per hour (or approximately $30k-35k per year).
Most of our parents and staff live with significant financial stress due to the fact that early childhood education is not subsidized in the US, except for those who are living at poverty levels.

Why Classroom Sponsorships?
Riverhouse Children's Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit early childhood education center, serving 82 children from six weeks to five years of age. We're one of two non-profit early childhood centers in Durango and the only non-profit center who takes infants before 18 months of age. We're unique in many respects, but another unique attribute of our center is that we have a certified kitchen and provide nutritious breakfast and lunch to our students.
Each year, to maintain our facility, retain staff and provide subsidies to families, Riverhouse has to raise over $150,000 to bolster our tuition. Typically we raise money each year in a large annual fundraiser called Cheers for Children. The fundraising landscape in Durango has gotten increasingly challenging post-COVID and our sponsor a classroom program is a great way to advertise the support of our local businesses and reduce our asks on our attending families, local businesses and individuals that struggle with many requests for non-profit support.
Our teachers, families and students are all members of the Durango community, and each segment benefits greatly from your support! Our goal is to raise $30,000 in classroom sponsorships, which directly contributes to our in-house tuition assistance program, ability to continue to expand our programming efforts, and mentoring and educating our staff for a career in education.
We're excited for our 20th Anniversary as a center and 10 years in our beautiful facility. We invite you to join us as a sponsor for this milestone. Sponsorship offers a unique opportunity to support early education, showcase your support, and keep tabs on how your sponsorship dollars are at work.

Sponsorship Opportunities
If each classroom receives $5,000 per year, that would provide us with $30,000 that can be used to support families. Sponsorships will provide families with tuition subsidies (ex. 10 families could receive a discount of $250 per month) and we could provide staff with more financial support in the form of gas or grocery cards ($500/month in gift cards means we could give 10 deserving staff $50 in gift cards each month)
